Hi bro, sorry about the losses of those livestocks of yours... Hmm.. maybe you think in this way better? "At least your cherries, otos & ramshorn snails are doing very well in your tank!! While others may even have difficulties in trying to keep these faunas..."

I once had difficulty in keeping cherries also (main reason was ammonia spike due to bio-overload in my small tank...) but now after this lesson, ensure that I don't repeat the same mistakes... now my cherries, sakuras & taiwan shrimps are breeding already....

The point is: Failure once doesn't mean failure always. Never give up! Maybe you can give those faunas a shot again when you've found your confidence again??

Dude, you're the one that's asking for suggestions to stock your 1.5 FT tank. I hope you are not squeezing all those poor animals in there. Sorry if I'm jumping to conclusions.

    Hi there,

I think it's not very 'scientific' to attribute the losses to bad luck.
Perhaps you can provide more information on the water parameters, water change and filter maintenance regime, tank size, filter type etc.

For a start, let us know if the rest of the fauna you mentioned (except the tiger barbs) are from the same tank.

I think I have said this before, there may be serious aggressions if you are going to keep only 2 of them (and in a tank of that size). The recommended stocking is never to have less than 6, and with the larger number of fish, you need at least a 2 feet or even larger tank to house them.

With the tank size in consideration, I would suggest none. Six is the suggested stocking in the hope that they can keep each other busy without bothering other fish. If you stock anything less than six, it is likely that they will nip and harass other fish non stop.

Perhaps you may want to consider rehousing it, or putting up for adoption to those who already has a school of tiger barbs.
