Yo friend I think you state clearly what you want to ask, if not how you want people to reply.

If you are looking for adding tablet fert to your substrate I think a bit too early. Anyway I heard people using plant sticks for potted plants.

    Inque,

If we don't know what you're asking, we can't answer you.

There is 3 types of fert, base, root and water fertilisers. And plants get different fertiliser from 2 places, the substrate and the water.

Most of use add a layer of base fert under the gravel as a long term fertiliser usually last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years depending on amount used and the plants selected. Usually look like fine sand or soil.

Root fertilisers are used to boost the substrate for demanding plants or when the there is no base fert or the base fert is depleted. These are usually in solid form shaped as tablets, sticks or balls. They are inserted into the substrate near the roots of the plants every few months or annually.

Water fertilisers come in liquid form. These are usually added either daily, a few times a week or weekly.

PMDD is not recommended for beginners. It's cheaper, yes, but hard to mix and depends on the needs of your tank. A user should understand the use of fertilisers in a planted tank in general and his/her own tank first before attempting PMDD. Some of us do add seperate components of the ingredients to supplement the limitations of commercial fetilisers. PMDD is considered to be a water fertiliser.

Commercial fertilisers are better for the beginner and ease of use in the long run. Most are quite complete. PMDD or part of it should only be used when you find that the commercial ones are lacking and wish to supplement it.

Some of us use commercial ferts to fulfil basic needs and use PMDD ingredients to boost the tanks.
