Saw the tiger oto! So tiny and so cute. They place the tank at the counter, funny. No much shrimp left, I though Wednesday is the day for new stock? But saw 2 bags of snowball shrimp, nice!

In fact got, I was there around 9+, there are 2 bags of them but 1 label as tiger shrimp. Not very nice so didn't bring them home. Usually will walk to the next shop and pay a bit more to choose the bee shrimp I want.

So far.. Those that came in are rather healthy and active.. But beware that they are still much more fragile as compared to the zebra or normal otos.. One of my tiger otos actually died inside the bag while I was trying to acclimatizing them for 4 hours.. .. But the rest are still surviving well in the tank..

IMO.. Try not to mix them with the normal otos as I really see them chasing the tiger otos away during feeding times especially.. But my zebras are exceptionally bold.. They will hold their ground while competing with the normal otos for food.. Anyone has similar issue regarding normal otos chasing the tiger?

That's normal, Otocinclus can be fiesty during feeding time. Other than that, they are normally pretty sociable.

I would actually recommend a species only tank for Parotocinclus sp. "Peru", and think this may work better in preventing high mortality rates (especially should they turn out to be L229 fries).

    My two cents.

.. That's why there are people who buy a bag.. Cause if you buy a few pieces.. Real hard to find them especially in a heavily planted tank like mine.. For me.. I have ten pieces inside my heavily planted tank now.. Still find it hard to locate them sometimes..

For specific paramters.. I did not really pay lots of attentions on my nitrite, nitrate, ammonia, GH/KH as I think by now my tank should be in a stable state.. Maybe I do a full test for my tank tonight.. But for me.. I do ensure that the PH do not fluatuate much.. I maintain mine at PH 7.0.. So far no death from any of my otos be it Zebra or Tiger..
