ID: Please help identify this fish - Aplocheilus lineatus

Hi I just got this fish from a LFS and i think they called it golden tung.. not sure if it's the correct name.. could anyone please help me out.. this fish stay at the top of the tank and seems to be able to jump above the water surface..

Thanks for your help! I just bought two of them yesterday and placed them in my community tank, after researching on it, I think the both of them should be males. Worse of all, I noticed that one of the male is always nipping on the other's fin.

Are they considered as aggresive fish? Or is there anything that I can do, maybe buy another female to stop the males from fighting? Would appreciate all help I can get, thanks!

From my past experience, these fish are slightly aggressive towards their own kind.

With their huge mouth, they are very competitive when it comes to food.

Also, remember to cover up your tank too because they a rather good jumpers.

These fish can get upto 4 inches big and if you have any small fish in the tank they may end up being tasty snacks for them, their full title is Aplochelius Lineatus gold
