Just to share with fellow forumers out there my 2 pieces of L27. The first piece is L27a also known as L330. Common name is watermelon pleco. The second piece is L27c. Common name is Xingu Royal Pleco.

    The second piece is a L190, not a L27...

L27c normally refers to the goldline royal or L27 Araguaia (and not the Platinum royal commonly known as L27 Xingu).

Thanks Gecko. When i bought it at the lfs, it was sold as a L27c Xingu. Guess it is a lesson learnt.

I am actually tempted to buy one (read as a couple) of these for my already crowded 4ft community tank...

I remember vaguely reading that they are really rather offensive fishes... anyone care to comment?

LDA63s or Rio Xingu Royal Plecos have redish fins like this:

Panaques are well known to be very territorial (and capable of fully utilizing your filtration system too), especially to their own kind. Anyone has any experiences of similar territorial disputes?

Slightly off topic question, but why are they always held like this. My standard bristlesnose won't keep still long enough for me to get my hand on it in such a way haha
