Early this month, I decided to do some scaping for my cherry shrimp tank. I am using the ADA Nile Sand and Amazonia II for the setup

Here I use a cardboard with some stones to create the partition.

And the tank is setup on 3rd Aug.

Tank : Ocean Free 1ft cube tank
    Filter : Eden 501 with i-Flo Nano
    Lights : 2 x 9W PL
Fertilizer : Seachem Excel 2ml daily, ADA Step 1 1ml daily, ADA Brightly Special Lights 1ml daily, ECA 1 drop on WC, Green Gain 1 drop on WC
Plants : Blyxa japonica, Echinodorus tenellus, Rotala macrandra sp green, Christmas moss

I love 1 ft cubes, I like this scape but IMO if the rock on the right- back is either removed or have a flatter profile, it would be better in the sense of space balance.
    ...I love rubies too ...

Stone at the right back, do you mean the one infront of the blyxa japonica?

Anyway, I find the stone at the left back corner a bit too low. I added more soil at the corner and raise up the stone a bit.

Below is the look at 12 Aug.

The Rotala macrandra sp green is growing quite well. The tank is recieving some indirect sunlight from the nearby windows. Added some small stones in front of the mosses for more depth. I quite like the additional of the small stones but too bad it is off a different kind compared to the bigger stones. Endlers (6 males, 4 females) were also added to the tank.

The tank as of 17 Aug, notice the green algae is growing on the front of the main stone. That is where it is receiving the sunlight.

20 Aug - An attempt to take the tank shot with the external flash from below + hairdryer effect. Too bad the flash got bounce off the glass.

    More updates coming..

If the behind slope is higher will look much better. I use those long brush for art to brush off those algae on the rocks when it starts to grow on it. I would use those like Lapis pebble stone for the foreground instead of the small stone, it has closer texture to your big stone. Overall a well scape created!

The back slope is currently 9cm deep with the front at 1.5cm. Any higher slope I will see the soil invading the sand in front. Actually I do hope the rocks behind is taller so that it will look much better. Occasionally I do use toothbrush to brush the algae off the rocks. I have changed the stones to a similar texture, see the updates picture below.

I am using small rocks to tie the christmas moss. I found that wire gauze will be too flat for my liking.

As mentioned, I replaced the small stones in front with something of similar texture with the rocks and here is the updated look.

Another shot of the tank as at 29 Aug.

Not sure if the Endlers will eat the baby shrimps, I will keep an eye on it.
Yes, I have added 2 tiger otos to the tank.

    Jacian,
your aquascaping skills make this scape seems so easy, as i think the placement of the hardscape is extremely challenging.

    Superb work.

    Cheers!
