Salinity of 1.02 is too low. You need at least 1.021-.026. :/ Some hardcore marine dudes will test stuff like calcium, iodide, magnesium... but it's too expensive for the rest of us lol.

Opps! Sorry Sis Kristen, too used to just address everyone in forums using 'Bro'... Please do not be mad at me...

Yah Dnsfpl, you may wish to up the SG of 1.02 by a bit more by adding in a bit more salt... better for your livestocks in the future also...

Tropic Marin & Reefmax are both good marine salt highly recommended by forumers in this hobby. Ok, will take note not to get Red Sea's next time, thanks Sis Kristen...

    Cheers!

Hmm... if just perform normal top-up due to evaporation, SG should not alter too much as only water had evaporated, leaving the salt in the tank... However, if too much surface agitation in your tank, then salt might be 'removed' out from your tank overtime...

Not come across any such sites yet... So far, mine came from visiting others reef tank (at their homes) or via pictures on the Net... [Luckily, there are no IP law on these... ]

as a general good rule to follow, whatever you put in your tank you should test for..bc while tests can be expensive, it would be more expensive to have a crash in your tank and loose everything
