Any chance of an image of your "suffering fish", so that i or others can help determine the problem. Then the correct advice can be given to rectify

White spots would indicate white spot disease. Without an image thats just an asumption from your basic description. Everyshop i've ever been to sells an Anti-white spot treatment. Which doesnt cure the disease. It kills the bacteria that is the white spot and they die and drop off the fish. Then a good filtration system does the rest.

Likewise; any chance of an image to confirm

Nice growth. Although hard to tell from the quality but it looks to have grown in well and filled out nicely. Congratulations.

ya the low details help to mask out the imperfection. 3x weekly potassium seems to help of late. however red plants are still not responding well maybe my lighting is insufficient. 4x 54w 1000 t5 works out to be about 2.5w per gal

This is the kinda layout which requires the most skills in dealing with so many different plants. Very well done!

The interesting mix of colours makes all my recent tanks seem really dull and predictable Will use your tank as inspiration for my next project

thanks but not really. the poor resolution of my cam help masked out many imperfections. I think your layout is tidier and more organised...mine's quite a mess. I've been trying many types of red / coloured plants and so far these lasted the longest.
