Moss or Hairgrass on stainless steel mesh?![]()
Aquatic plants and LEGO collector.
Hi and thanks for your reply,
Its not moss or hairgrass. Its just carpet grass, it is commonly sold tied on drift wood. But I bought mine without the driftwood and it is in a square shape around 6cmX6cm.
Thanks again hope to hear from you soon.

have any website on how to tie java moss ive just ought a moss just now.. it dont need high light and co2 rite
have you considered using nylon threads to tie? should be easily found in shops that sells sewing materials.
use minimal pressure to hold them down. after a few weeks, you can either leave the threads there or remove it.

No need to tie to mesh.
You can:
a. tie to small pieces of driftwood.
b. tie to pebbles/rocks
c. tie to slate
d. lay on bottom and sprinkle some gravel on it (make sure you don't have shrimps or fish that will dig it up.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

instead of using wire mesh use driftwood, pebbles or slate
yah, and I tied mine to my black backing. can see the fishing lines like "tennis racket" as Vinz put it. []

bought two square pieces of carpet grass and just planted them as a whole into my tank.
Wonder if I should take it out and spread them out and plant them into smaller stalks.
----------------
with regards to my own topic here's the pic of my carpet grass I am talking about
think the name is Lilaeopsis novae zelandiae or newzealand grass plant.
Hope someone can tell me if I should plant them in stalks cause I planted them as a whole spreading of the plant is minimium.
Thanks

Yes, separate and replant them individually. Spread them out evenly over the area you want to cover. A pair of pincers/tweezers will help greatly.

you can split them up and plant in clumps of a few stalks each. plant the clumps a few cm apart. place the clumps closer to cover the gravel faster. however, you'll need patience with this because they don't spread like wild fire. may take about 1 month before you'll see some spreading, by runners. a rich substrate may help. and try not to have too much lights as spot algae can cover the leaves in no time.

Curious why dealers love attaching this plant to driftwood, as if this plant could attach itself to the driftwood ala moss rhizoids. So what's next? Attaching tenellus to driftwood?
A classic case of fancy packaging to clear unfashionable bits of driftwood alongside a sought after plant?
