I add seachem flourish and excel each week into my 1ft shrimp tank after 30% WC. So far so good.
I am wanting my plants to grow a bit faster in my shrimp tank, and was wondering if i can add some nutrients and CO2 to the tank.
If yes, what nutrients is recommended for shrimps as I currently only have Doctor Mallick's Aqua lushgro and Micros.
Thanks

the reason im asking these is that im concerned regarding the amount of Copper in these nutrients as the shrimps are very sensitive to them..
i did some research on Seachem Flourish and found that it has 0.0001% of Copper in it. Will need to do some more research on Mallicks Lushgro to find out more on the percentage of the contents.

As far as possible, try not to dose chemical, any chemical, into a shrimp tank. These little critters are quite sensitive to water parameters like temperature, nitrite, ammonia and especially pH levels.
You are right about copper being the biggest enemy of shrimps.
As to CO2, I use a DIY CO2 using a 1.5L plastic bottle as the CO2 output is not intense and I keep mainly moss and Java ferns, both low maintenance plants.

can check what is your ph level?
thanks.

Frankly I have not checked for quite some time because the tank was quite stable so far with no deaths and the shrimplets kept increasing . Also, I did not add any new plants/shrimps inside and do weekly WC of about 10-20%.

Nope, other than the anti-chlorine solution

I'm dosing ADA brighty K for my 1.5ft shrimp only tank, contain of Potassium, Nitrogen and Phosphorous, 3 necessary nutrients for aquatic plants to grow, also effective in neutralizing chlorine in tap water, 2 birds in 1 stone.
No CO2 injection as most of the plants are all slow grow moss.

i just realised why my shrimps don't breed and always die after few mths. MY FERTS ALL CONTAINS COPPER!
hahah
thanks for asking so now at least i know why my shrimps died. And now i shall add no ferts to my plants.

Sorry, but how did you confirm that the said copper killed the shrimps? Or did you just conclude it based on the widely spread "belief" that copper are harmful to shrimps, and that your fertilisers did contain copper as an ingredient?
Fact is, some fertilisers will contain some amount of copper, as it is an element that is required for plant growth. However, this amount of copper is very low and when dosed in the correct dosage, should NOT cause any issues to the fauna. The same can't be said if they are being overdosed (not that I am suggesting that you are).
Here is a small sample of fertilisers where ingredients are compared, http://www.aquabotanic.com/plantfer.htm. A number of them have copper (Cu) as an ingredient. Does this mean that the products are not safe to be used in your tank? Hardly so.
And why are some of the aquarist have no issues dosing fertilisers (with Cu) in their tank with shrimps? Do a search in the forum and you will come across threads like this, where many do not have issues with dosing fertilisers, http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...ad.php?t=29011 (read post #7 and #8 in particular).
In my opinion, it is not what is in them but how they are being used in relation to your tank's ecology that can make the difference. As a matter of fact, low dissolved oxygen can present a more pressing issue for shrimps.
Just my 2 cents worth.
I dose lots of ferts into my tank but my Amano, Malayan and Sakura is ok.

I dose Wonder-Gro macro & micro with CO2 injection. Sakura shrimp population is exloding in my heavily planted tank.
Cheers,
U.K.Lau
I dose Dr Mallick's Aqua and micro, Dry ferts mix with water, KNO3 / KH2SO4 / Mg2SO4, Seachem Excel sometime and Seachem Iron, etc(depending on the plants need)...
