I measured my tank ph, kh and gh. The readings were :
    Ph - 6.5
    kh - 2
    gh - 11

Is the gh too high for the shrimp tank ? Thinking of using distilled water to dilute the gh or should I leave it as it is ?

    What shrimps are you keeping?

Shrimps are like fishes, they all have specific requirements, not necessary 1 tank suit all species.

I think it is not a matter of how high the GH you have now. But how do u get that high, it is quite unnatural for our water to get this high GH and what other elements come with the high GH?

Yeah I was surprise that the gh could gone up to 11. Is it the dosing of mineral plus and some coral chips in the tank ? Anyway I manage to bring down the gh to 6 with the help of distilled water.

The coral chips is causing the high gh. Why not remove some of the coral chips instead?

GH = 6 is good for CRS.
