Hi Guys, i noticed that there are tiny flea like creatures in my tank. Seems to be coming from my bog wood. They are smaller than a pin head. There is also while spots on the bog wood that looks like eggs. The fishes does not seem to be interested in eating them. Any idea how to remove them?

In my tank there was a small section of emersed wood, small white fleas lived on that piece. I simply drowned them out, making the wood submersed from then on, although they still live around the rim of my tank, jsut above water level. No idea how to rid them though.

tks Dave. I went to the link. Unfortunately my "flea" is not among the database. Its too small to be photograph. Guess i would just have to bear with it..

I might have the creature same as yours..

I have a few kinds in my tank, they are indeed tiny.. Just dont feed too much, so the population can be controlled. Supply higher current might help..

One possible suggestion is to remove the blogwood from the tank and pour boiling water on it. Do a water change to suck out the fleas. In this way, you will reduce the population by quite a bit.

The next step is to reduce the food you supply to the fish. When they are hungry, they may go for the flea.
