Hi all, my 4 ft tank's 3 weeks old. 2nd week added fish and fully planted.

the water is somewhat clear but with a lot of tiny particles floating and drifting.

Are these due to bacteria boom? I have tried Tetra's clear water but no effect. How can the water be crystal clear again?

    thanks for advising.

Baterial bloom is usually seen as cloudy water rather than tiny particles. What fishes do you have?

Hmm.. What are the colour of these white particles? Do they look like living things to you? [Best if you could take a shot & show it here, then experienced bros here in a better position to advise...]

If water is clear, can't be bacteria bloom... If it's just some non-living stuffs, just use a net with fine holes to 'catch' them & discard. May take few attempts to clear all..

    Hope it helps..

You can try to suck out these fine particles and do a water change. After doing water change for 3 times, these particles tend to disappear.

I had this experience once. It was because I did not wash the new media that I bought. Therefore, it caused these water particle. After I did water change and opened up the cannister to wash the media, everything was alright.

While cycling my planted tank, I had a bout of green water due to excessive feeding of my fishes. A few dosings of Seachem clarity with extra filter floss packed into my canister filter cleared up the green mess. Now that my tank is fully cycled, the water is finally crystal clear. I am not sure if 60 fishes are too many for a new 4ft tank. Better to control feeding a bit.

Ya down to once every 3 days for feeding now. Suspect the filter medium creating those tiny white particles

These tiny particle does looked like the fibres from the filtration media.
What type of filtration are you using?
