You should be able to post new threads in all forums except "Marketplace".

It is strictly frown upon in AQ.

If your main purpose is just to sell your stuff, you can always post in AF.

All that aside though, welcome to the forum =) I'm sure you'll find some threads where you'll want to share some information or ask some questions. Once you've got enough posts the marketplace becomes available.
