    1) No CO2 use
    2) Temperture maximium 30 degree
    3) Mini moss and low light plant
    4) PH above 7.6
    5) 2feet by 1feet tank
    6) 13 watt lightset
    7) Set up 5 day

I just set up a Cherries low end tank.

Temperature at 30 degree, can the cherries take it? Do I need to install a fan?

PH was high,do I need to cycle it longer as I got no test kit to test for bad gas in the water?

I add 20 pieces of Cherries shrimp in it, size from 0.2 to 1cm, so far no dead body found. But on the 1st and 2nd day, the shrimp was dashing around the tank but now they have stop and settle down.

Expert please advise, especially on temperature.

My cherries did not make it at the temperature of 30 degree.
I end up adding a fan and it living happily now, as the moss is also growing fast.

Can kindly explain more at 30 degree, your cherries did not make it? I need more information to decide should I add a fan. Thanks.

    Bro,

you have to moritor you tank. mine did not make it as it started to die day after day.

I am using a Dophin mini chillier in the office tank now and a fan at home.
Both are doing well as i can see fly and stop buying new shrimps liao.

Cherry best keep in temperatures between 15°C to 28°C, 30°C will stress them a lot. And for the pH, it is quite high for initial setup, I suspect you didn't use any soil base substrate? Try to maintain the water parameters at pH 6.5 to 7.5 pH for cherry and most of the fresh water shrimp. You may need to check for other like kH, gH, Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate for initial stage.

    Temperature: 15 - 28 °C or, optimum for most shrimps 23 °C
pH: 6.5 - 7.8, most freshwater shrimps do well at a pH around 7
    kH: 1 – 15 degrees
    gH: 5 – 25 degrees
    Ammonia: 0 or near 0
    Nitrite: 0 or near 0
    Nitrate: as low as possible

    Can post photos?

shouldn't be a problem. My cherry shrimp breeds like no tomorrow in a low tech tank, which is without fan.

To play safe since so many advise to lower the temperature,I went to get a fan.Luckily today rain alot and was 29 degree.I did not get the test kit it was pretty expensive but maybe I do more water change till condition is right.

As for sand, I use the type of fine sand that got many colours, brown, light brown, white and black.Base fertilizer is JBL.
