I'm newbie here and plan to setup my first fish tank now, so look for some advices from all seniors.

How much cost to setup a 3ft or 4 ft fish tank?
Where can find fish shops in Sengkang area?

Hi bro roamerlg, welcome to AQ & this interesting hobby!! Guess a lot of bros in here are very willing to help out in some ways or another... Do take some time to search/browse through the various sections/threads as you will be surprised that what questions you had in mind may had been asked & answered before by others - hence saves you the time of waiting for responses/answers... We are all here to learn & share what we'd learnt together...

Anyway, for your questions, below are my views:

How much cost to setup a 3ft or 4 ft fish tank?
It really depends on what kind of setup you are looking for, do you have any budget constraints, High or Low tech tank, what kind of floras/faunas are you going to keep & many more factors which only you have the answers... I guess the first thing is to plan on all these before rushing in to get the tank or the equipment first. If you are lucky enough (& you don't mind), you may be able to get an FOC tank from some kind bros/sis in here, but you may need to provide transport yourself... [So do check out the Marketplace regularly... ] It'll definitely cost more if you prefer everything to be first hand...

Where can find fish shops in Sengkang area?
Near Sengkang area, you may wish to try out Seaview off Jalan Kayu that area (or near Seletar Farms there..) to check out on the equipment you may need & its cost.. If you have transport, you may also wish to visit other LFSs to compare prices on the stuffs first... Y618 @ Yishun may be a good choice also... If not, there's 2 or 3 LFSs near Kovan/Hougang area also... You may like to use the "LFS Directory" to find out more info... Or you may drop by the fish farms @ Pasir Ris Farmways also... Seriously, once you'd been 'poisoned' by this hobby, the distance of the LFSs will not be that crucial...

Cheers & hope the above helps...

I so agree with you beetlejuice!

Anyways, when i started my 2ft tank recently and i went around shopping alittle. If you like window shopping and going to different LFS to check things out, im sure you will find things you need at a good price at different places. Some places simply sell certain items at better prices. I saved quite alittle maybe about $50-$60 differences buying from a few LFS compared to if i had bought all from 1 place. The items inculdes equipment, hardscapes and simple accessiories. The differences in price i guess even out for my petrol comsumption. At the end of the day, its part of enjoying the hobby!

Cheers and Good luck on your tank to come!
