ur flame moss seems to be doing well. though i cannot see well from the picture but i think those are new leaves growing.
Hi all can you help check what's wrong with my Flame Moss? There are black tips.

So how can I grow them well? Else I'm switching to Java Moss if any easier for a newbie.
Thank you.
ur flame moss seems to be doing well. though i cannot see well from the picture but i think those are new leaves growing.
the body looks fine.
but its tips are black. Is that normal?
ya the tips are black not sure why. only the last 1 week have I been keeping my water 25-26C. maybe the initial 27-28C could have created the "burn" marks? Ha!
anyway I will try trimming off the black tips.
cos from what i seen, normally the tips should be a brighter green than the body which means it is growing.
but the black tips don't look like they are dead too. strange.
is Java Moss more hardy and an easier moss to grow and keep?
OK thanks to all. i will go replace my flame for Java. cheers
hahah! Yeah man!
Just harvested alot of Singapore Moss from my office...![]()
I read somewhere that Java Moss is not exactly a Moss?
Thanks & Regards,
Trevor

Agree it looks good! Thats the website i viewed yesterday after my harvest!
Anyway it is such a pain trying to wash away all the sand/mud stuck to the moss. I practically dunked it into a container, topped up some water, capped, shake like a bartender to try and rid of the sand/mud stuck to the moss.
Process repeat again and again till i deem the moss is clean.
Hmmmm thats how i do it, what about you? Couldn't find any source on the net![]()
Thanks & Regards,

I think Cool Temp is Essential and Vital with sufficient Lighting is the KEY![]()

Moss prefer clean water, or mature tank with clean water, good CO2, cool temp and good lighting. Below is the picture of my Singapore Moss and Mini Christmas Moss.Currently the Singapore Moss is using low light and more low maintenace condition as compare to my Mini Christmas Moss tank from my high lighting 2ft Otiwhite tank. With better condition you will achieve like my Mini Christmas Moss flourishing.
Remember that under different condition, moss will grow differently, especially Singapore Moss.
