I've been wondering, after looking at so many threads asking about planaria and seed shrimps infestations in their shrimp only tank, is there such thing as a pest-free shrimp only tank?

My tank was once infested with planaria, but they're long gone. now i'm dealing with a seed shrimp infestation that is VERY HARD to get rid of. it pisses me off big time.

sometimes i feel like giving up my shrimp tank..

Try not to over feed the shrimps to minimize the planaria. These planaria even guppies and tetras don't even want to eat them. So far all my shrimp tank setup (about 4 tanks), all having such problem, you only can minimize it...

i no longer fear planaria problem as the Boraras feed on them.
its the seed shrimps that my Boraras ignore and its giving me a lot of headache

maybe its the boraras brigittae that feeds on seed shrimps as my boraras merah leaves them alone..

Possible, the tanks in my house are pest free. Anything to put inside the tanks were thoroughly treated.

FYI, there isn't much that is different between Boraras brigittae and B. merah. Both are about that size, the mouth is only that big and diet are the same, no discernible differences. Whether they eat these pest in the aquarium largely depends on the specific likings of the fish.

I thing what you need to do is quarantine any plants you want to put in.

Hi silane: how do you thoroughly treat stuff before putting them in your tanks?
