acrylic would be a good choice. u can get acrylic sheets cut to size at most lfs as most people who keep LH use these sheets as dividers for their LH. if u need a big piece u can specify to the shopowner i think.

im thinking of how to cover my tank without obstructing light going thru it.. how do u guys cover yr tank? wat do u cover it with??? im thinking of either glass or transparent plastic.. which would be better?? and most importantly.. where can i get?

why do you want to cover your tank? fishes jumping out? it will raise the water temperature above 30deg.
acrylic is safer as you'll need to remove the cover frequently for maintenance. and glass is heavier so more cumbersome to move around. places where acrylic is available as suggested by forumers .
