    Hi tinydot,

I do not have any measurment kits to measure the water condition. I only dose 1 squeeze of Wondergrow (Marco+ and Micro+) every week or bi-monthly. 6 hours of 150W MH light everyday from 7.30pm to 1.30am. About 2 bbp for the CO2. Water temperature is around 26 to 27 degree celsius.

As for the container on the top right hand corner is for me to "float" some plants. I intent to have some frogbit there to absord some nitrate. The container helps to keep the plants in place and not floating around. Thus does not block the light that is needed by HC.

thanks for the reply. did you use a chiller to maintain that temperature? any reasons to on the lights at that "odd" hours? is it because of low ambient temperature ?

Yes, I am running a chiller with DIY external temperature sensor. No particular scientific reason why it is at the "odd" hour. Of course, it does help in term of the tank's temperature as it is usually cooler at night. The only reason is that I usually will be home by then and I will be able to enjoy seeing it. The reason why we want to set up a planted tank is to be able to enjoy seeing it, isn't it?

Thanks cydaph. The moss is not tied at all. They clinged to the rock (not lava rock, it is the same kind of rock that you see on the right) by themself.
Anyway, previously, I do not have the intention to grow them. It was purely an accident. There was 1 leaflet of moss clinged on one of the rock on the left few months back and this is the result now. I think it looks nice to me (at least to myself) so I will carry on keeping these mosses.

woah bro i like how your small clumps of moss grew to two such humongous clumps. How did you lodge the small clumps to the rocks initially?
