    Hi

does anyone have this problem with Fluval 205 building up air inside the canister slowly? I checked and it isn't caused by the surface skimmer and no air bubbles in the tank.

Its giving me quite a problem because my CO2 reactor builds up a large air pocket internally even with slow bubble rate. And my chiller also fills up with air pockets as when I shake it I can hear water slushing around before the air pours out of the water outlet.

Its frustrating as I have to shake it and empty the excess air every few days.

    Thanks

Based on your description, I would think your surface skimmer is taking in air.
Just that the air is trapped in your canister filter, chiller and reactor.

Could you stop using the surface skimmer for a while (one or two days) and see if the problem persists?

Or it could be that your filter has a small leak.
