    Hi Bro,

I just bought 2 units of ANS Cooling Fan 3000 from NA at an very attractive discount price.

However, after fitting up and starting the fan, there is a very faint burnt smell coming out from the fan. The fans looks to be operating fine, but the smell is still around after a few hours.

Anyone here has the same experience with this fan?

I personally suspect that the smell comes with the heat generated from the fan motor, and since it is new, hopefully it will go away after the fan is seasoned. Just hoping that it will not get burnt out.

Btw, I also noticed that there is no power adapter, which means that the fan is using the 230W directly from our wall socket. Will it be taking up a lot of electricity?

No wonder there is a big discount....

Thanks for the feedback, bro Delwin. Hope mine will not end up with the same problem.

I'm actually more worried that it will start a fire....

Let's gather more feedback and at least if it is really very problematic, than everyone will know what to avoid.

230w is a lot. Usually big ac fan like this draw up to a maximum of 25w. This is a ac fan so it do not need any adapter for conversion.

Having a burning smell seems dangerous. So better be careful for that.

For ac fan usually I go for profantec type. Drawing 20w at most. Furthermore its powerful and silent.

I think he meant 230 volts, not watts

Ops... so sorry, guess I have return all my electronic knowledge back to my lecturer...

Anyway, this is the same product that Mizu World is selling at http://www.mizuworld.com/index.php?m...Detail&pid=981 ... I'll monitor the fan closely and hopefully it will not let me down...

The side with the metal fencing should be facing the back of the tank. Should be the motor side with the Brand labels facing the water...

and it should be a single big clip with 2 mounting screws....

Please make sure the fan is secured before switching on the fan. Or else this might happen in your tank ->
