I spend 1 full day for each major rescape. And then just do a water change lasting 10 mins and some minor pruning every fortnight. Basically, I'm a lazy person and at the same time I enjoy the process of watching nature do it's job in the tank.
As above how much time you normally spent on your tank? For me i almost everyday spent about 1-2hrs on it. Either looking at it, do some minor here and there to make it even better. Sunday is almost half day gone doing changing water, pruning, here and there. How about you guys?![]()

yah I pay attention to my tank for at least 40 minutes each day. \
my gf thinks i'm obsessed. I have to agree and I can't stop myself.![]()
Today i spent 6 hours rescaping part of my new tank and some waterchange. i hope i don have to do that too often because my back is aching now stretching in and out of the tank. My wife is making noise at me already.

Newbie in this exciting hobby
few minutes at most, mostly top-up water, feeding and dossing fert. Other major activity is on weekend (trimming, water change, adding new plant/rock, shifting etc). I caonsider one day gone on weekend (either Saturday or Sunday).
About 10 minutes, including feeding the fish. Topping up water, pruning and fertilizing only done on Saturdays and these normally last half hours at most.
i surely spend more time with it than with my family and that's gotten me into some trouble.![]()
40 minutes a day is hardly obsessed![]()
2 hours for changing water, and 1 night for a rescape,im only doing rescape at night, because only at night that i can get the silence enough to focus on scaping.
My fishes are always on a diet,i didnt let em eat much cuz i dont want them to be so fat like their master hahaah

I just stare & look at my tank whenever i can after work during the weekdays. Which usually i don't, unless i come home early after work. As the lights timer are set to switch off around 9:30pm, and i usually get home around close to 10. Got off to work even before the timer lights are on. So my time with my tank during weekdays are minimal
Feed the fishes twice a week. Weekly water change & adding fertilizers either sat or sunday morning for maybe 2 hrs. I seldom rescape, because i'm using ADA amazonia. Trimming of plants, maybe every monthly depending the growth of the plants.
So most of the time, i'll just let nature do their job.
I work late shifts 5 days a week (from 1pm to 10pm). Although my lights timer is on from 10am-3pm then again from 5pm-10pm. So in the morning i usually sit at my computer glancing at it, watching my fish go about there daily routines.
Saturday morning 15 minutes water change on both my tanks. Fert regime twice, sometimes three times weekly (5 minutes each tank).
Then constantly replanting anything dug up by my loach/dempseys.
Overall i'd say i spend way to much time doing inferior things that seem pointless to my parents and brotherMy entire family know how hooked i am on my fish, my grand-father is about the only one who truely understands my passion for fish seeing as he got me hooked from a young age with his "Au Natural" tanks. My friends claim i love them more than i do them - probably true
I guess i can easily spend 1-2 hours a day doing various things ranging from just looking, to replanting, to re-aranging certain aspects of my tank.
P.S - i feel a major tank overhaul coming on soon xP
