I've had like 8 Downoi(s) in my 1 feet tank...
all melted within 2 weeks..
replaced with Elatine Triandra (APP)..seems a few clumps melted already but some grew nicely, with bright luminous color..
any idea what could have happened?

What's your tank water parameter? with the amount of ferts and things u are adding in, i suspect that your water is overdosed.
could be the magic soil. downoi has been known to do badly in soils like ADA, i'd imagine Magic Soil is similar. To overcome that, plant the downoi very carefully such that only the roots touch the soil and no part of the stem touches the soil.
As for your APP, since some parts are flourishing, I suspect the portions that melted were converting from emmersed to submersed form
thanks bros...
actually one downoi actually survived cause only the roots are in contact with the soil. so far that's the only survivor until......until i plunged all of its roots into the soil. DANG!! it melt a few days later...
as for APP, not sure if they're converting...all those metled stems never seems to recover. just left with brown leaves...
maybe i'm overdosing it?i think i shld stop using the liquid fert for the meantime... maybe just do W.C

excess ferts won't kill your plants. at most they'll kill your fish
Here's some updates for my APP..
from this....
to this...
And my Rotala Green...why is the leaves sparsed?
top view...the leaves seems to have 'browning'..any idea what causes these?
thanks for any inputs guys....appreciate it.

Downoi doesn't do well in new and stagnant tanks. It's a river plant.
I've seen downoi grow very well in Aquasoil though I must say your mileage may vary.

If your temperature can lower abit, like 27 and below would helps alot. Currently got one pot and is spreading crazy, do notice when temperature goes up abit, it melts abit too, other than that they are spreading well. They consume quite abit of nitrate though. You can try adding extra Seachem Nitrogen.
