Just wanted to know what peoples opinions/experiences of these units are. I've jsut bought the 600mm (4x24W) and 1000mm (4x39W) units for my 24" (2ft) and 39"(100cm) tanks respectively.

Pro's / Con's whatever, i want to know if possible.

    Thanks, James

Nice choice! Would love to own one of these, pity i'm not crazy about the pricing!
I'm guessing individual reflectors are always the con when it comes to higher price lighting units as compared to the standard 1 reflector-3/4 T5 tubes that most of us here are accustomed to.

Being young and foolish and living at home means i have only a small fraction of bills to pay. Giving me more to splash out on the equipment i need for my tanks, that'll will in theory last me years to come

So i took the opertunity to buy top of the range light units seeing as its a major factor in lack of growth in my plants.

So you think its certainly a good choice then? Certainly hasnt been a cheap transition. Previously on 2x30W T8's in my 39" tank, and my 24" tank was previously unlight for 2 years

£496 ($1,297 SGD) later i have these two light units on order for this coming Sunday (28th Sep). I know i didnt get the best deal - but was to hasty to whack out the cash and pay when i should have shopped around a little first. A rookie price bargaining mistake - nevermind, life goes on

Does anyone have any first hand experience with these light units, and/or plant growth experience?

I would go for Metal Halide lighting, especially in UK the weather is cold, with Metal Halide you will save the heater energy when the light is on. Metal Halide is really good for the planting and the cold weather there.

Also costs a s**t load more cash! Seriously price leap ios rather high from T5 to Metal Halide.

Without a heater my tank is at 22-24oC so i'm quite lucky in that respect. Although i do keep my heater on to increase the temp those extra 2oC to make it 26oC. Unsure if my plants can survive 22oC (reluctant to try)

I'm from the UK and so mine came quite locally. I also cancelled that order a few days after posting my last post. Perhaps someone on here alot more familiar with S'pore can assist you.

I agree 100%. If I was living in a colder country in which I would need a heater, I would get a MH.
