Happy for you bro. Can share full tank shot? How many Sulawesi species you keeping?
Been keeping sulawesi shrimps for only 3 weeks. Noticed 3 cardinal shrimplets today. Pardon me for the lousy camera. This is the best I can do.
Don't know where the shrimplets came from anyway cause I don't think I'd seen any pregnant cardinals.
Oh well... hope they (shrimplets) can do well.
Happy for you bro. Can share full tank shot? How many Sulawesi species you keeping?
woah.... congrats... thought they are hard to breed.
looks big for a newborn.
I will try to post a full tank shot tomorrow. Kinda lazy to pick up my camera and do the uploading. hahha....
I bought 5 Harlequin Shrimp, 10 red goldflakes and 7 cardinals. All I am left with now is 2 Harlequin Shrimp, 5 red goldflakes and 7 cardinals after 3 weeks. Cardinals are still the hardiest among the Sulawesi shrimps breed.
Quite a painful lost for you... But you give an idea for me to start keeping sulawesi since there's a hardy species among others
Waiting for your full tank shot.
For me, don't really care for a tank shot. More interested in the following information, if you could provide as much as possible. Thanks in advance!

Tank dimension (LxWxH, specify units):
1.5ft x 1ft x 1.5ft (used to be a tetra/guppy tank)

I use ADA soil as base and cover a layer of sand over it.

External Cannister (Eden 501)
Filter media used:
Not too sure of the brand name (threw the packet away sometime ago)
Age of setup (since initial setup or last major changes):
Used to be a tank for tetra/guppy so the setup has been there for more than 6 months then I removed the tetra/guppies a month ago and topped it up with sand. Added coral stones and chips to increase pH.
Water change frequency:
Have not changed water ever since I had Sulawesi. Just topped water up every now and then
Amount changed:

NO2 (ppm): 0
NO3 (ppm): ~10
Hope my information can help those who are interested in setting up a Sulawesi tank. Anyway have to really wait and monitor for a while more before I would call my water parameters valid cause I have "killed" so many shrimps over the past 3 weeks.
Oh... you are definitely going to be disappointed at the layout of my tank. Super nothing! Simple....
I will post the pictures tonight cause am at work now.

Ok here is the picture of my tank. Told you that you are going to be disappointed. hahah... its bare!
Anyway i counted 7 shrimplets today!
Nice landscape
pH8 --> Coral sand, coral chips and coral rocks?
Your moss and plants growing?
Actually pH went up to 8.5 already.
My taiwan mini moss and whatever plant that is is growing quite well.
Not blooming but not dying at least. haha...
I didn't pump any CO2 into this tank.
That is river sand actually and some coral chips and 2 big coral stones.
pH 8.5
Most plants grow better in pH6-7, but since shrimps are your main focus not the plants, can close 1 eyes, haha.
I think it been a month since I have that tank with pH above 8 so guess they can still manged. Anyway have plenty of mosses and plants in my other tank so can easily replenish the ones here if they die.
How and what do you feed them?
Same thing I feed my CRS and cherry.
Mosura CRS feed, Hikari alage wafer and some fish food now and then.
I think adding Mosura mineral plus and Mosura microbacter does help make the water more suitable for them. Mineral plus adds mineral to the water which are missing from our tap water. Microbacter remove toxic in our water. Maybe that is what is keeping them alive.
Anyway I only managed to keep the cardinal sulawesi alive out of the 3 species i bought. And having shrimplets only from cardinal sulawesi only. Not a lot of shrimplets, only managed to see 7 of them so far.
more pics and updates please

Haha... Dont think my tank and shrimplets have changed much in just 10 days. They still look as small. Will post more pictures once they reach more reasonable size for photographs (using a simple digitalcamera).
I just got another pregnant Cardinal Sulawesi!
This time her tummy is big enough to be seen. Enjoy!
