Thankfully! We still have food in our supermarkets! We still have hot water bath! Being safe, dry and protected! No complains. Cheers..

As expected. 1 week after PUB increase 22%, Singtel announced price hike for their landline services (which will affect every Singaporean) citing "INCREASE IN OPERATING COSTS"

    What's next?

yeah...i did the same to my storage heater too sir. change to the timer type...max can go is 20mins, so everytime shower must turn the timer knob.

Ahhh....have you all forgotten about the unnecessary underground tunnel where the National has to make way for it? So fast forgotten ha?

And Gas... follow by S&C charge
All these increases will surface within the next 6 months... and the whole vicious cycle will then repeat again!!

In another word... it's a never ending cycle of INCREASE... until probably 6 months before 2011's "thankgiving"

About the chiller thingy, last time when I was still on marine then I off the chiller due to high energy cost( also some malfunction) , those hard corals literally died off( actually already very poor shape), what was left then was a pile of white skeletons.

But I recycled these calcium structures and went on to Tanganyikan fishes keeping as they look marine to me.

Looking back those day, really crazy no thanks to Nemo.

If that happened now , I will probably give up aquarium hobby.

err..... My point is, we will definitely feel the discomfort is we were to cut something in our daily life. I will now try to keep things simple and low cost by not trying newer entry fishes/shrimps or plants or follow latest hype.

Better keep low tech tanks to decrease all the water and electric bills...
I find that by switching air-con and washing clothes add up more on the bills...

I would say a true aquatic hobbyist would not budge with the increase of tariff. They may re-do their setup to be as efficient as ever before. The most they'll do is to lessen the number of tanks but their interest will not be put off by the current situation.

I think it's all very simple. When you have more money and amount of work stays the same, usually your quality of life increases, you can do more things. The reverse is usually is true too. So put off or not it's still less we can do compare to before.
