Can't really agree with you 100%. I guess deep inside a true aquatic hobbyist is a desire for a eden, utopia world ,something pure and wholesome not possible in his daily existence. Of course I want a tank (me a 4ft nice marine tank again) that has all the optimal exact parameters and all the nice living creatures in it.

But in real world, there is only a certain margin of saving to be had even with 100% efficiency. The rest still boils down to $$$. For ordinary folks, the real world requires them to allocate all the available resources to supplement their commitments and even existence. (may I exaggerate for the existance part)

Wonder how long will it take for them to adjust the price to the market rate. They are always quick to raise prices & slow lowering the prices.

I bet when the time comes to price adjustment & if the prices are still falling, they will use the market price instead of the "projected" prices.

Let's just sit back & see if they will apply such double standards on these prices.

Price will not go down much. The world is using its resources more than producing it. Watch the documentary movie "The 11th Hour". It is a good visual explaination. Even Dr Money once illustrated that the earth is consuming more than it can produce. Moving forward..it is everybody's problem now.

I am also wondering about this. As of today, the price of oil per barrel is in the $70++. When it's time to lower the price, I'll wonder if the drop will exceed 25%. I also hope that there is someone out there who has the skill to write a good letter to the press to rebute on why the price adjustment didn't exceed the 25% mark.

Even the price of gas at the gas station dropped only 5 cents if I'm not wrong.

It will not happen because Don't-Know-what-pac is bringing forward the meeting to cut oil supply in order to jack up the oil price again.

OPEC... represents 70% of the world's oil producing countries.
They will be meeting to discuss reducing the daily supply of oil to the world... thus ensuring that oil price remain stable (read PROFITABLE).

I agree. What I remember was back then, we were told that the cost of electricity will be lowered when the power company will be corporatised. But now, look at situation. We are now told that the cost of electricity is pegged to the cost of oil every 3 month. Also, the electric company reap in a billion dollar in profit, what made the government sold them for $4 billion is beyond my thinking.

Everything is so expensive nowadays in Singapore even books. A hardcover book sold in Germany cost only Euro19.95 whereas in Singapore I have to pay $42.50. Even China books sold 60Yuan there cost $22.60. ??? Shipping costs? Always excuses. There is one book cost $90 here and they said shipping cost from Europe is high, but I saw the book inside said PRINTED IN SINGAPORE!!! Now I am not buying anything from Orchard bookstores unless absolutely necessary, but then again I go there often so buy abit sometimes so it stays in business.

Ministers should be paid well, hard times paid even better as that is the trying times where human core values are being tested.

Back to the electricity bill thing, don't worry next year sure have rebates and price reduction. Its all in the planning. Nothing new.

Yeah....well said, speaking about core values....i think they should really look at themselves. Anyway, they will have rebates and price reduction things like that, but don't forget about constant price increment in other daily needs. Well....one thing for sure GST will sure to go up again in future, all that cancels off each other....means all these rebates equals to nothingness.

Just look at the oil prices, now its already way below 100USD, but still....here in sg our fuel prices still doesnt come down....

My latest monthly bill: $277. Previous month : $348.

I've ceased all Aircon operation in the house. Installed a ceiling fan in the master bedroom. Replaced the switch for the central water heater to a timer based (spin the wheel timer before you bathe, max up to 20 mins). More conscious of the electric consumption in the house. But it's still high!!!!

    Dang!!!

Of cos they made a huge profit after being taxed by govt and also paying off their top executives with helfty sum of money. Just imagine 80% of the electricity generated were using natural gas and yet they peg the price to fuel. R*&%*%*&^8 !!!
