    Hi,

    Expert Advice needed!!

    I have downgraded my 2 feet tank with another 45 x 35 x 36cm tank.
My filter is Eheim 2226 Pro and I believe that the flow rate is too strong for my new tank. Other then adjusting the valve to a control the flow rate what other option do I have.

    Thanks

To add on to what Blue33, connecting the outlet to a rainbar will slow down the flow further & at the same time distribute the flow evently across the tank.
    Cheers,

Besides, the rainbar, if you are using CO2, connecting it to a reactor would slow down the flow rate? im not sure, just asking question here.

The other thing, the pro series has 2 levers, one is to on and off the input and one for the output. You can turned the lever to half or 3/4, would that cut down flow rate? i have the 2222 so thats what i notice. but if on full power, its a definite overkill for your tank size.

Thanks for the help and feedback. I am already using a rainbar, will be also drilling more hole in it to have the force reduce. I am also putting in thicker media and external reactor soon. Hope thing will improve.

    Cheers

Smile Eheim 2226 Pro with 1.5 Feet Tank

Hi Guys, successfully in using 2226 for my 1.5 feet tank, thanks to Adrian, Lau, LM and and Wong (My colleague) advice.

    What I have done.

    1) Putting in thicker media and increase the amount / thinkness of fine filter floss
    2) Redesign my rain pipe.
I have drill additional 4 hole at 3 oclock direction. So I have 8 holes at 3 oclock direction and 4 at 7 oclock direction which allow water to be push 45 degree downward toward the back of the aquarium. I have also replace the stopper in the rain pipe with filter floss allowing some water to exit at the end of the rain pipe.

Attached is my current tank. Cheers.

    Thanks for the advice Guys.

Nice tank, that's a cade tank! Infact i prefer strong current than gentle current. I've used about 1200l/hr for my 1.5ft tank before. And i find the plant and fish grow amazingly.
