It will take quite awhile for hairgrass to grow in lapis sand. It already take quite awhile already, you dont see any new runners yet.

Your hairgrass is going to be overtaken by algae and the lotus is going to kill off the light for them. You might want to rethink about scaping the right half of the tank.

    bro,
you can plug out the whole lotus and plant it somewhere or you can trim away those tall leaves.

    Hi Bro,
Looking good. Just that I find your Tiger Lotus might be too big, blocking out light for the hairgrass at the bottom. Trimming the bigger leaves will be better. Its a nice looking tank you have there. Will order one 4ft from you soon Just wait

    Cheers!

Seriously Weeyang19 trim that leaf before it hits the water surface. I highly recommend you do so after viewing this post. Once the plant learns where the surface is all leaves will race straight for it. So trim trim trim, if not for that do it for your HG's sake.

    Hi Weeyang19,

Got here a bit late. In my opinion, you should forget about the ADA style aquascaping with a tank of this height. Plant some large Amazon sword plants like echonodorus 'rubin' or others - their leaves will adapt to the height of the tank and look beautiful. Line them all at the 'back' of the tank on one long side. Lastly, I think this would make a great Discus tank! Get a school of Heckle Discus along with a few dozen Cardinal tetras and MAN! You'll have an amazing center piece with a beautiful back drop of different types of Amazon sword plants. Just my opinion though.

By the way - if you're looking for some heckles, C328 has some really really nice heckles in. Get a whole bunch with really large cardinal tetras and you could probably ask for some kind of discount.

    Z.

Haha - ooooooppppss didn't notice you already have a school of cardinal tetras LOLZ! Ok now just all you need is 6 to 10 heckle discus!
