    hi, anybody here got experience with Barbus gelius? on their rearing conditions
    just got some of these from Taiwan...as the lfs owner told me that this is the first time they saw in taiwan.

    the name is Puntius gelius and it comes from India. Just keep them in general "barb" condition is fine, i.e. soft water pH 6-7.
    why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

    Yes, they were here in Singapore a month or two ago, some leftover stocks still available in some LFS.

    By the way, P. gelius has always been available here in Singapore as far as I am concerned, at least once a year, perhaps even twice a year.

    maybe the LFS thinks Taiwan fish more sexy?

    Yes, they are quite cheaply available here. Water requirement shouldn't be too different from the other barbs.
