MH would be an overkill for moss. It helps but why increase the electricity bill since it doesn't need such high power lighting? Another concern is the water temperature the MH generates.

Stormydax, where is the new Gen-X lfs located now?

if you are talking about changing the bulb only, then cannot.

moss do not need highlight, guess the current FL come with Juwel should be sufficient. Why bother to waste $$ changing lighting system.

If you intend to use MH than you have to hang it about 45-50cm from water surface, keep the temparature at about 27C is good enough. Of course lower temperatre will produce nicer and fat moss.

Is your current light set enclosed within an aquarium hood? (Sorry, not very familiar with Juwell tanks)

If so, you might want to consider getting rid of the hood and replacing the FL with a PL lightset, those that sit on top of the tank. Hood tends to trap heat, mosses prefer cooler water.

Light requirement for moss is minimum. I guess that FL should be ok but I may be wrong as I've not use FL light before.
