Why do my malayan shrimps keep dying?

Yes as I had suspected earlier, do increase the O2 level. I noticed most lfs house their shrimps in tanks with loads of airstones. That might be the trick.

I am starting to believe it's the O2 level. I just increased my lights, Co2 and plants started bubbling. Now my new batch of yamatos has already made it past the first week without casualties

I have finally come to a conclusion as to why my malayan shrimps are dying. As advised by a few LFS, they informed me that 1-2 dying everyday is normal as it's their normal life cycle.

I don't think so steve...no such thing...everday die 1 or 2? Its something in your tank...what test kit are you using to measure your pH and KH.....Any aggressive fishes?

hahahahha... that's the best I"ve heard so far! I really don't think 1-2 dying everyday is part of their "life cycle" more like death cycle. I think its an obvious attempt by shops to get pple to buy more shrimps lah. goodness, what extent will shops go to for profit?

Hmmm...that is weird though cos I heard from quite alot of guys.

Anyway, my pH is 6.7 and kH is 4.0.

I'm using Sera test kits.

Steve, I would recommend you get a pH test pen to measure pH instead as the titration method requires you to shake and mix the test solution thus much CO2 escapes and the pH increase.

hey guys , recently , i have 1 malayan shrimp dying everytime i change water
usually i remove abt 30% water weekly and add in water(i declorinzised it the nite b4) . then i add in the denerrele brands of tablet . no idea why but they always have 1 dead per week
