    hi forumers,
    i would like to start off this thread so that ppl would have some idea on how to go abt fragging their corals.. pls kindly share your methods and when should a coral be frag?

    fragging corals means to remove part of the coral to start off another colony...

    jus cut!!!!!! softies jus use knife or scissors. hardies use those garden cutters.

    after tt jus put the softi on top of a rock or tie threads ard it till it attach. for hardies jus use super glue

    Kelstorm,

    You could indeed use your fingers, but because of the pressure exerted on the frag, the tissue in those areas of contact will usually die. However, if you're going to use epoxy putty to mount the frag, the putty should be moulded around the base, so the tissue near the base will die anyway.

    Hard corals prop'ed this way are usually those under the so-called SPS corals, meaning those like the Acropora, Montipora, Poccilopora, Hydnophora, Porites, etc., and not the regular LPS ones like the bubble, anchor, hammer, torch, brain, galaxy.
