    Hey guys,

I tried APP but it all seems to melt on me. I have been dosing Lushgro micros, aquos and also kno3. Do you think its cos of my base fert. It was used to grow glosso abt 1 yr ago for like 4 mths. Then after that no time so just drained away all the water.

Decided to start up again so just added water and top up abit of gravel. Do you think its cos my base is "spoilt"? Can i just suppliment with root monster and try again? My lighting is 2x24w t5HO.

Forgot to add i also planted tenellus inside and no problem with that at all. Growing well and turning red too.

    Rgds

Hi, it could be possible that the App you started with might not be in very good condition. In addition, how long are your lighting hours?

    Cheers!

since your tenellus leaves turn red .. then i assume your lighting should be enough. Do you inject CO2 to your tank?

What kind of substrate you are using now? May be can try to put in base fert if you think the nutrients in your substrate have depleted.

Normally 8 hrs lighting should be enough. Also try to maintain water temperatre below 28 oC. It helps

I am using JBL base fert with normal black substrate. Have added root monster under the remaining bits of APP to see if its really no more nutrients. '

CO2 is using external reactor. Confirm enough as the tenellus bubble too.

    Water is between 26.5deg-27.5 deg.

I had the same problem like yours when i first set up my 1ft tank.

after sometime decided to go on APP again, so bought some from Bro Salphur and now its booming... i'm really happy to see. also started to use aged water.

there's a thread on my APP and Downoi melting started by me...

Yes, my tank was cycled 2 weeks before i even plant anything. FYI my water i used rain water to start my tank too. (i live in landed so i can collect water when it rains for my fish needs, save on PUB bills also. ) Maybe that batch of APP that i got not very healthy. You got any to spare / sell me?
    Cheers
