Is it true that most feeder fish would die, even if you put them in a good tank with good water quality?

That's because I think they are quite pretty in their own way.

p.s. feeder fish means the packets of guppies / goldfish and platys that are kept and probably supposed to be fed to larger fish...

Don't think its true, if water is good they should thrive well too. They are just like any other fishes. Usually they die due to stress or starvation.

My friend picked out some pretty nice guppies/mollies from packets of feeder fish and they did just fine under the right conditions.

Most feeders are normally roughly handled cos of the low value for them.. depending on where u buy the fish, some LFS like to scoop up fish like goldfish or some bigger fish in a net and count them den put into packets.. during the process the fish is already scared half dead le but as goldfish is quite hardy, so their survival rate is pretty high. But feeders like guppies are always scoop around while the balance out the amount per pack so most of them actually suffer injury to their tails n fins..
