Hi bro shadow, I came across this thread when I was doing a search to find out if I should use a seperate pump to drive my chiller and external NA co2 reactor.. Really informative posts..

Just to point out that on your comments that flow reduced by 50% to 504 l/h (Assuming you are right and your filter is filled with media) that you had forgot to account for the reduction due to your filter media. The 1000 l/h is the flow rate quoted on Eheim website without media. With media, it might be around 700 l/h (70%)? So, infact, the chiller and CO2 reactor only reduced the flow by about 200 l/h..

However, I think as per your findings already, the main problem is with the thermostat.. increasing the flow rate (to ard 1300 l/h) either by using a dedicated pump or changing the filter to a more powerful one might also help.

    Hi o2bubble,
I am currently using Artica Chiller 1/4hp drive by one Eheim 2028 and another 2028 on for the Co2 Reactor thus it would be more balance of the output and there will be more circulation inside the tank.

    Cheers
    Keeping.

I end-up using additional pump as well as exsternal sensor. Mainly because this way I can inject CO2 in to two different places and also more water curent.

    Hi,

How do you calculate reduced the flow rate?

    Thanks
