The stripes are reddish brown, think more hardy than the spongicola, at least all are still in the tank (touch wood).

Can't really tell from the picture, but the stripes seem to be red or brown? So, these are presumably not Caridina spongicola as the stripes on C. spongicola are dark, more like black. Hence, referred to as C. cf. spongicola until studies have been done and a scientific name can be assigned. Presumably a close relative, found under stones and rocks, and does not form an association with sponges.

sulawesi need akaline ph..
It has been more than a month since I introduce the sulawesi shrimps.
Despite efforts to replicate their environment in terms of ph and GH, most of the shrimps did not survive long term.
There are few left in the tank.
Did some troubleshooting, included more carbon and some ion exchange resin to remove nitrates. Also did water changes from a purer water source instead of tap.
I went and get 10 whitespotted again to see if it works. If this fails as well, will perhaps convert this tank to kepp other things instead.
This specimen was too attractive so I got it as well.

Ro and DI water, adding back the mineral through seachem equibilirium and coral chips. A much more labour intensive process.
