This is exactly what I am thinking. Especiall the right side of the tank. I feel it is very plain and lacks of depth. I was thinking to introduce some middle ground plants but that's is not an appealing idea. Adding slope is a great idea I could try but I am afraid gradually the sand will get flattend by gravity. Driftwood/stones could be another alternative to add depth I guess.

My tank is a high temp one, 28 degrees. tried to keep java moss but failed miserablly. I gave up the idea of putting fans or chillers so probably have to give up mosses.

    nice setup there!

i think the java moss did not actually fail. maybe it was still adjusting to the water. i have experience mosses turning brown for 2 weeks upon introduction to the tank but after that they will turn green and shoot new buds(light green and whitish). and my water temperature is constant 28 degrees too. you might want to try again.

    good luck!

Thanks for sharing your experience, bro. My moss stayed in my tank for 3 months and eventually majority of them turned brown with all leaves falling off (maybe eaten by the shrimps). a small portion hidden in the shade seems to stay alive but not growing...

But from your experience, seems 28degree should not be the cause. I will take your advice and give it another try. Yes!!!

    Happy new year to you!

28' is fine for spiky, java and even christmas mosses...well their color won't be as bright green to my experience. what is really important for these plants is matured water and good quality. give it a try few months later

Hi, nice setup! I was wondering if the sole piece of rock is a lil jarring. Would it look better if we stuck to drift wood or add more rocks to improve the "look"?

I got some Taiwan moss from NA yesterday and tied to the right hand side drift wood, will post some photoes later

I did saw my 2 SAEs snacking on the moss...But not constantly.
Is it advisable to have SAEs removed to protect moss?

Hi, Bro, thanks for your opinion. I have done some rescaping to make the rock not so lonely. I have put a algae wood to join the left hand side wood with the rock to introduced some integrity. Will post some photoes for you guys' review

give it a week or so and see whether your mosses are stripped bare leaving only the main vein or stalk ( i don't know what is the proper name for it, any bros out there can help??? ). because some SAEs do nips on the moss.

    good luck bro~

Sure, watching closely and update you guys just did a 1/2 water change.

Now after the rescaping, tank quite ugly, most background plants taken out replaced with some red stem plants.
All glossos pulled out as well replaced with hairgrass.

    hesitating to take photoes...
