    Hi bros, sis.

I am currently rearing crs in an approximately 1.5ft tank. All i did was to add anti-chlorine before allowing the water to run with filter for about 3 days with soil included.(Don't know what is the brand's name. but it comes in red, green and blue packaging with jap wordings.) Added a bacteria ball from CRS Haven.

Now i have 19 crs-es inside. With a fan, the temperature is about 24-26C.

I have read the forums, what is kH, GH?? can someone please advise?
Planning to use a chiller soon, probably going to DIY. Is there anything i need to do?

If your temperature is maintainable at 24-26C you probably don't need a chiller. 3 Days is probably not enough cycling for a new tank, you might want to monitor your fauna carefully for the next 1 - 2 weeks.

Might want to have a look at this article on Basic water chemistry also.

fabby, please kindly take note that SMS language is strongly discouraged in AQ, e.g. 'dunno', 'wat', 'pls'. Many thanks.

With regards to your question, if you really really want to be successful in keeping them, I honestly think that you need to read up as much as possible, for weeks, even up to months first to beef up the basic knowledge.

Also, using equipment or other stuff without knowing how it works and what effect it has on an enclosed aquaria is the biggest mistake an aquarist can make.

Just my honest opinions and hope I don't come off sounding too harsh.
