    the sword tails....

nice colours for this tank. the mixture of crypts gives give texture to the foreground. some how i realise you seldom use hard material preferring more plants instead.

Good thing the haggard-looking discus decided not to be in the group photo but hid behind the plants.

I used the swordtails for removing surface scum. There are there for a purpose. Anyway, I loved them since childhood.

Cacatuoides: The big brown plant should be the Red Barclaya.

Any comments on what else to try in changing the aquascape?
Since it is in the office, this current aquascape was planned for easy maintenance. Water change every week and some trimming & replanting only once in 2~3 months.

    hey jug,
I must say you have a wonderful depth on this tank.

    Personal opinion....
the redish crypts on the foreground keep attracting my attention, I would remove them if I were you...

    basically, the rest seems great

Oh yes. I have removed them since the pic was taken. They are actually Barclaya longifolia. They mysteriously sprouted out after I planted some new hair grass I got from Teo Farm. Must have came in by seeds somehow.

Actually depth is very bad in this tank. It is only 16". I placed a styrofoam backing at the rear to staple on the Xmas Moss, reducing it further. So you can see that I can't put in big plants that take up a lot of width.

    Koah Fong,

Really nice looking! But don't you have a surface skimmer that you can tuck behind the plants?

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

Seems like another annual update as ADA 2006 draws nearer.
Getting busier at work to put more effort in the setup. Just let things grow and see how... even hair algae is starting to appear.

Nice! Definitely should consider submitting for ADA 06. I envy you having such great tank even in your office. I'm sure alot of us here will want to have a planted tank in our office too.

Update for 2007. Aquascape "evolved" to this due to lack of time. Anyway, submitted it for ADA 2007.
