Hmm, I found this article on the web so I think it does remove copper in some way.
Characterization of Activated Carbon and Application of Copper Removal from Drinking Water
Oh no, I am not losing cool or taking you as a challenage, dont worry, but I scared if people doesn't get your shrimps to breed, they will give up your hobby in a matter of time with their short lifespan and being fragil.
Shrimp hobby is about breeding them, if you dont get to breed them, within a year or so, they will be all gone. Only when you can breed them (for high order breeding form species), means you have gave them a good enviroment, afterall, we all want to give our shrimps a good enviroment.
On the part you said you dont use age water, I am expecting that someone will sharing their varied experience when I post aged water is needed. Thank for shring your experience, sharing of varied experience is needed, I am learning from all of your everyday.
I alway like to tell newbies to do the safest thing to keep shrimps, so that there will be less hicupps and likely to maintain the hobby rather then giving up. So you see, we have the same "worry".![]()

Just sharing my experienced. I'm keeping Sakura shrimp in my tank and i use EI methods, sometime i dose alot, and i change 50-60% of water every week, direct tap water into the tank and also dose Anti-chlorine solution at the same time. Sakura still breeds.Btw my CO2 is 4ps.
Maybe Sakura/Cherry is tough.

I have heard from one of the LFS uncle in my area that China-made chillers may leak copper into the water and they have experienced it once in their own tanks where there was a massive shrimp die-out. How true this is I can't tell. But then again he mentioned the Titanium (Artica?) he is using now works perfectly for the past 5-6 years so he could be saying this to promote the more expensive brands![]()
