the thing is, I don't know what it is:
seems like the wild caught stuff are fine (like cardinals, apisto trifiascata etc..)
but the none wild are not..

Just tossing in a thought... could be a disease with long incubation period? If they contracted it around the same time, it'll kick in around the same time?
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

seems like the 40 yamatos are close to all gone... the daily attrition of yamatos is crazy..

Wah...damn expensive problem you have there []
Plant Physiology by Taiz and Zeiger
filter = wash it
water changes, daily?
you have a bad biological problem here
if you're desperate you can try some salt, relieves no2 poisoning
no no2 detectable. filter is washed. there's like 1kg of biohome inside. along with the jbl clearmec and ceramic rings.
I was at biotope yesterday and got another New pair of trifiascata. When I got back, however my older male ap.trafiscata was dying!, laboured breathing, fins all flaring, not moving but resting on crypt leave. Frozen bloodworms were dropping on it but it ignored the food and didn't move.
this morning, its dead.
so i now have 2 females and 1 male. new one.
cause of death still unknown. should I treat with seachem paragard?

Ay Chris,
I think we better share money and buy microscope to check.....the death rate in your tank is almost as bad as mine....and causes are usually unknown.
Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
yeah..just that the tank was stable for the last 2 weeks or so...
grr.. its like the apisto know the rival is coming (another alpha male) and it dieded..grr
1 dead dwarf royal farlowella.
1 dead zebra oto, was alive in tank for like 1 week then died, laboured breathing
such quick deaths usually point to two things
1. a especially virulent strain of parasite
ime i've only seen 1 such parasite that could kill in a day
chilodonella
2. your water conditions are very out of wack
btw, you still haven't told us the water change regime...
water is crystal.
ie: 3 times a week, 30%. additivies. some salt. sodium bicarbonate etc.
--
nothing has died since the last two deaths.
----
however, after then and now, I've already treated the tank with.
2 days anti fluke
2 days myxaxin , broad spectrume bacteriocide
3 days (today is 3rd day) of Paragard, ecto paracide + fungicide
