Hi all Tried to search for DIY lightings then decided to choose T5 light, recently visit a hardware shop and asked about the T5 lightings they only have 28W I think this one is for house usage , they don't have the T5HO is HO means High Ouput?. My inquires are
-Can the T5 light with 28W is enough for those plants requiring high
light ?
-My tank is 4X2X2 what is the minimum wattage should I get?
Thanks

4 feet T5HO tubes are 54W per tube. For high light setup, 4 tubes are sufficient.

Thanks bro for the reply
don't DIY, find 2nd online safe your time. You can go for MH which is best for high light setup.
sgreefclub.com have few seller, you have to change most of the bulb to suit freshwater plants.
It depends on what are you planting. For me which are mainly moss and some tiger lotus. 2 x 54w is enough.
I may try the 28w if they have the 865 (means 6500k) tubing.
For household, I try using the Philips 22w 6500k extra bright for my room and it is one of the brightest. I am sure they should have similar kind for the T5. May hunt around for it to try. 28w vs 54w save quite a bit of electrical bill.![]()
