    Hi all,

Just thinking aloud, will adding vitamin C be benefical for fishes? Will those available for our cosumption be suitable? Disolve the tablet and soak the fish food in?

Saw dennerle having some vitamins tablets for the fishes in C328....

here is something worth reading, though it's not an answer

    http://www.finarama.com/forum/viewto...ghlight=#13426

Dirk explains what he finds going on with certain nutrients. He is a university professor, runs his DNA lab. Vitamins such as vitamin C degrade fairly quickly, I think, in a similar fashion. Maybe it would be better to feed vitamins via gel , which is then added to the foods at time of feeding, if possible. I think things are headed that way: gel foods, refrigerated after opening, for all ingredients we really want to make sure get into the fish. You can even add more ingredients to the gel if you wish to. Reports are, that fish seem to start liking the gel if it is introduced on one of their favourite foods.

    I've

tried using NLS as binder. It was a "no go" as a binder, but maybe could be used just as an ingredient.

    my brainstorm idea; custard

A problem for my mixes thus far was it was not attractive to fish. When gelatinized, the gelatin seemed to act against attractiveness. maybe it hides odor. Now I can try again with mussels and some of that anise and garlic in the gel.

Liquid vitamin C...hmm..most are in pill form as vitamin C loses it effectivness rather quickly. I'm not sure what are been used to stabilise it in liquid form. The article actually states that glucan from yeast might have some postitive effects on the fishes. Will search for fishtamin in the LFS.

The article above refers to fishes breed for human consumption.

Guess you will have to coat the outer layer with garlic juice and bits of garlic around the gelatin? coat the container with the juice and let dry then pour in the gelatin?

    don't know

but I wonder if the gels are perhaps mostly just fish oil..menhaden oil and attractants like garlic and anise.

My friend is using Dennerle S7 Vitamino Gel which you could mix and blend it togther into any type of the foods you wish to feed to your fishes,he say the results are good as the fishes eat more than usual but the price tag is real costly ,If you guys dun't mind paying more, can maybe give it a try

Saw Dennerle S7 vitamin solution in LFS. Anyone got experiences using it? Can't see if there's Vitamin C on the solution package.

Refering to the article, its stated that yeast contained glucan that is important. Got a bottle and was trying it out on my fishes. Maybe Vitamin C from other nature source? Spinach?
