    Hi Guys

Just wanted to find out the above question.

As we can see that in LFS they sell tube in black or transparent. And some say transparent is for airpump and black is for co2. So does it mean for co2 we need to use a black tube?

CO2 is "corrosive" in nature. The black tube is more hardy and will not melt under CO2 corrosive nature thus it is more expensive. Transparent tube is more "rubberly" and tend to mend overtime with C02 as such it is not suitable for C02 unless the transparent tube is make with the same material as the black tube.

co2 becomes corrosive when combined with water to become carbonic acid.

regular airline tubing should not be used as co2 can diffuse through the tubing walls. silicone tubing is acceptable as co2 diffusion is reduced to a much smaller amount. for polyurethane tubing, co2 diffusion is almost nil. however, they are hard to work with as they are quite stiff. in addition, you'll need fittings to make joints.

The colors doesn't really matter. It's the material that makes the tubing.

CO2 resistant tubing is stiffer and comes in black or clear.

Another question, I found that the black color is slightly bigger in diameter than the clear one. It does not grip the CO2 outlet from the tank properly. ?Not sure if this true or I just hapen to buy bigger size one.
