Today when going to feed my fishes saw the female lying on the ground with the male beside her. Upon closer inspection found that they are mating. The whole process took about 30mins. The eggs are laid in a rather open space and hope that these eggs will hatch into fries. Fingers crossed

Thats alot of eggs! They should hatch between 7 to 9 days. There after, you should start to feed them bbs.

Hopefully they do hatch. I got this pair for about 2 months and they managed to spawn today. Was surprised with the amount of eggs too

Congrats to your spawn, the pair will choose to breed almost anywhere they think is safe to them. Its good timing to witness the whole mating process! Look forward to your fries soon!

Very nice...ehh..just to ask..do these eggs take so long to hatch out?? 7 to 9 days?? Normal cichlid eggs take about 2 days to hatch out except for various mouthbrooders...so just to ask. Thanks
