Back to Killies... slowly.
If possible, avoid Taiwanese made solenoid. I had one JBJ that was about 6 months old and it started giving me problems a couple weeks back.
Mine could be an isolated incident but sometimes it pays to pay more for quality item. The "better" ones could be in the $200 plus range.
Cheers,
Roy
anyone have any idea why solenoid is so ex?
anyone tried using industrial solenoid?
thomas liew
yup
didn't work out
system & control/ bioplast
selonoid is 85
regulator is 185 (or 150+ forgot).
however, they are meant to be used with each other and got warranty. if got problem within the first week or so, go back and return it. they are nice people.
I've been using a brand, Kare, for 3 yrs. It's a Taiwan regulator with a german solenoid.
Keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't konk out anytime soon.
I did use taiwan UP brand solenoid regulator before. Didn't last 3 mths
just curious, what was the problem?----------------
yup

a solenoid is basically a powerful electromagnet so what could be the difference between 'aquarium' and industrial solenoids.
thomas liew
The solenoid we use are industrial type. They are not that ex but the valve is.
Festo has the solenoid (pneumatic application) which cost around $20.
the problem was it just didn't work
what happened is the solenoid would work fine for a while, go hot very rapidly and then give off such a loud buzz that it would wake me up
DEA,
U on the soleniod at nite too?
Don't bother if its Black cats or White cats, so long as it can catch Rats. Its a Good Cat.
