Well, the problem is that colour is not a definite indicative of the species of shrimp. Some species can have variable colours.

in the past.. i use to hear things like blue shrimp are malayan shrimp (or some other cheap shrimp) that are fed with blue food that will make their body blue or injected with blue ink.. don't know how true is that.. but seems like its real.. since stelim said that they are malayans..

Here are some pictures of the "blue shrimps" I got from C328:
Are they similar tosign's shrimps?
Are they Malayan Shrimps?
[I wonder if they are the same, but the thing is, C328 also sells Malayan Shrimps labelled as such and at cheaper price...]

Hi,
The blues ones that I got from C328 are getting black in my tank and 1 of them has berried. Some of the previous ones I got has babies that has black strips with what looks like a red brain. Strange. The blues does not seem stressed in my tank, since the other shrimps also berried.

You mean getting black-ish blue? Just like mine in my pictures? To me, they are very very dark blue, although look a bit black from far, but if we look closer, they still have a taint of blue.
Also, do they look similar to the blues here?
