A picture of a group of hungry ramhorn snails grabbing food.

This signals its time to send in my snail killer to do his job once again.

Bro Spid, is this found in your shrimp tank? I have loads of this ramshorn in my shrimp tank. Catching them in between the moss and glosso is a pain in the neck.

How do you get rid of them? Puffer?
Putting puffer will also feed on the shrimlets right?

Anentome helena -the snail that kill snail will do some job, though not as effective as puffers. Introduce puffer is too risky as they tend to disturb shrimps and gobble shrimplets.

Anentome helena - interesting snail and quite a beauty too!

Since they eat snails, I assume they may also hide in substrate to grab shrimps if they happened to move across the path? Is this safe for shrimp tank?

Did you call me? You can reduce their quantity by luring them together first with pellet food, then just remove them manually. Alternatively, like what the fellow forumers said, introduce the snail-eating snails. But be warned that these snails may or may not be effective, and if effective, will take some time.

Your sighting request has been split here, http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...ad.php?t=46696

Shrimplets may be at risk, but if there are enough snails for them to eat, and there are lots of hiding places, I don't see a big problem. The worst thing that could happen is that the shrimplet population may be dented, you just get less shrimples. So personally, I would put it down as generally safe.

If there are doubts, then the solution is very simple, don't keep them together.

Hi bro Puffer and Quixotic, thanks for the advice. I will go scout for it this weekend.
